The countdown to the new year has begun and we are very excited to see what the 2020 has in store for us. With a monumental shift in design sense over the years, we are pretty certain some trends that were rocking 2019 may not make it to our top list of 2020. For example, everyone is moving away from the industrial trend to make space for cosier and more welcoming designs. Cool tones are also on their way out as granite countertops and accent walls.
At this point, let’s take a look at what is here to stay through 2020.
Let one colour rule the room right from your upholstery to the walls and just about everything. Monochromatic does not have to be pale. Colours like Cobalt Blue, Kelly Green, or even Aubergine can evoke monochromatic in a daring way, that’s full of personality and elegance.
Shades of chocolate brown, wine, olive green, and yellow ochre are all taking over in homes. These colours are substituting neutrals on the sofa or walls for simply how warm and trendy they are.
Fun and quirky bathrooms are in. This is the one place that received the least amount of effort back in the years, but now it is indeed the one place where designers are placing their bets and taking risks.
Fake planters are out of the door and everyone is welcoming the refreshing new trend of bringing in real plants. They are easy to maintain and the most eco friendly option of decorating a home. Not to forget they look stunning!
Rattan & Wicker
Rattan and wicker is having a resurgence; it warmly reminds us of a childhood filled with it. The trends have evolved in fresh and exciting ways whether in chairs, tables, or lighting, it is the perfect layer to balance modern and traditional style.
