Hazlitt’s is a testament to the old Georgian era and was started by Peter McKay and Douglas Blain in 1718, this hotel has been called one of London’s best-kept secrets by Harper’s Bazaar. Located in the heart of London, each room pays homage to the 18th & 19th century and are equipped with four-poster beds, antiques and old paintings. Plus, the bathrooms contain claw-footed baths. Opened in 2014, the Shangri-La at the Shard hotel occupies levels 34 to 52 in the tallest skyscraper of the European Union – the Shard. The first Shangri-La hotel in Britain and only the third in Europe, this hotel was designed by architect Renzo Piano and decorated by LRF Designers & Andre Fu. It has subtle Asian touches in the lobby that reflect Shangri-La’s heritage, while modern and classic art pieces have been showcased in all public areas. Opened in 1854 by renowned Victorian designer, Lewis Cubitt, the Great Northern Hotel is an upscale boutique hotel next to King’s Cross. It is a curved, brick building that boasts of high ceilings and sweeping corridors to represent a bygone time.
